Lauren Wilson

Lauren Joined the Gabrielle Centre for Children at the start of 2022. Lauren Graduated from Western Sydney University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Health Science/ Master of Occupational Therapy Degree. Lauren commenced working as a Paediatric Occupational Therapist in 2018 with a background of inpatient care and Spinal Injury rehabilitation. 

Lauren's Story

Lauren has a keen passion for Paediatrics and is highly motivated to continue professional development. Lauren has completed the following courses as a post graduate: 

 

•    Environmental Modifications with Sandy Light -foot Collins

•    M.O.R.E Integrating the mouth with sensory and postural functions facilitated by Patricia Oetter and Elieen Richter 

•    Therapeutic Listening presented by Shelia Frick 

•    Decoding Autism presented by Kim Barthel 

•    SOS approach to feeding presented by Kay A. Toomey, Dr Erin Ross and Bethany Kortsha 

•    Alert Program presented by Mary Sue Williams and Sherry Shellenberger 

•    Camp Jabiru Practicum Program presented by Tracey Stackhouse and Lynette Burke 

•    From Sensation to function presented by Sheila Frick 

•    Seeing and moving: A visual vestibular course presented by Kim Barthel 

•    The action in is in the interaction presented by Mari Caulfield and Kathy Walmsley

 

Lauren participates in Camp Jabiru every year and has a special interest in utilising the natural environment to support children in reaching their goals. Lauren believes in a holistic treatment approach where each child’s unique strengths and gifts are central to supporting them to reach their full potential.
